EFCC recovers N9 billion for NLTF to support national development
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has successfully recovered N9 billion for the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), marking a major boost for the fund’s mission to support national development and charitable causes.
The recovery was highlighted during a visit by NLTF Executive Secretary, Comrade Tosin Adeyanju, to the EFCC headquarters. Adeyanju expressed gratitude to the anti-corruption agency for its role in this achievement.
He urged the EFCC to continue its efforts to ensure that all gaming companies pay their dues, which will help the NLTF fulfill its goals. “EFCC has recovered over N9 billion for us. I urge you to sustain your efforts in ensuring that all gaming companies remit their dues,” Adeyanju said.
Adeyanju noted that the NLTF focuses on promoting transparency and accountability in the lottery industry, ensuring that gaming companies follow regulations and make timely payments. The fund supports various initiatives across Nigeria, including education, water, healthcare, sports, and disaster management.
EFCC Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, assured the NLTF of continued support in debt recovery. He emphasized that it is the EFCC’s responsibility to ensure that all recovered funds are directed to the appropriate agencies. Olukoyede also advised Adeyanju to maintain integrity in his role, stating, “It is our statutory obligation to ensure that all recovered funds go to the relevant agencies. Always do the right thing because tomorrow, someone else will review your activities.”
The ongoing partnership between the EFCC and NLTF aims to strengthen the lottery industry in Nigeria, promote charitable causes, and support national development.
