Dortmund defends its fortress, wins UCL semifinal home leg
Borussia Dortmund gave an excellent account of itself in the UEFA Champions League semifinal tie against Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain.
Dortmund was excellent, creating a flurry of high quality chances to score but only able to convert just one. One was enough on the night, as it turned out to be the winning goal.
Edin Terzic’s men found the breakthrough in the 36th minute when centerback Nico Schlotterback found Niklas Fulkrug who was running in behind PSG’s backline. Fulkrug’s control was fantastic and his finish was even better.
PSG created chances after the goal, but failed to find shooting boots in the game.
This win puts the tie in Dortmund’s hands in the second leg next week, as it means that Terzic’s men will be in the final of the Champions League if they avoid defeat at the Parc des Princes.
