Governor Oborevwori calls for mass voter registration in Delta
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) is unbeatable in the 2027 general elections—as long as the party stays united and focused.
Speaking at a large APC stakeholders’ meeting in Asaba on Tuesday, the governor urged party members to work together and get serious about mobilizing new voters.
“Unity is our winning strategy”
Oborevwori made it clear: no other political party can challenge APC in 2027 if the party keeps its internal house in order.
“We’re performing well at the federal level, and we’re doing great here in the state. With unity in our party, no one can defeat the APC,” he said.
He emphasized the importance of voter registration, especially at the ward level, calling on members to help register all first-time voters, particularly those who turned 18 after the last exercise in 2022.
INEC voter registration in focus
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is currently conducting a voter registration drive, and APC leaders see this as a critical step toward winning in 2027.
“This is something we must take seriously,” the governor said. “Ensure that anyone who couldn’t register before gets captured this time around.”
APC leaders push for unity, youth inclusion
APC State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, echoed the governor’s message, encouraging members to stay united and work toward strengthening the party’s grassroots structure.
Meanwhile, APC Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, told journalists that youth engagement is a top priority.
“The first takeaway from this meeting is unity—without it, there’s no loyalty.
The second is ensuring young people turning 18 are registered.
If we get that right, 2027 will be a walk in the park.”
