Comedian Koboko leads protest in the rain over Benue killings, slams Tinubu’s leadership

Popular comedian and content creator Koboko and his content team staged a protest under heavy rainfall on Wednesday, June 18, to condemn the ongoing killings in Benue State, accusing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of failing in his duty to protect Nigerian lives.
Koboko, who shared photos from the protest via his X handle, called on Nigerians to reject President Tinubu in 2027, citing widespread insecurity and government inaction.
“Tinubu has failed us,” he captioned the post.
The protest, held in Makurdi, featured placards with bold messages such as:
-
“Benue Is Bleeding”
-
“Is Benue Not Part Of Nigeria?”
-
“#StopBenueKillings”
-
“May Tinubu Not Happen To Us In 2027”
Koboko’s protest came in the wake of President Tinubu’s visit to Yelwata, Guma LGA, where over 300 people were reportedly killed in a recent attack by suspected herdsmen. Despite the solemn nature of the visit, public backlash has grown, particularly over reports that schoolchildren were made to stand in the rain to welcome the President.
The skit maker’s actions have drawn widespread support online, with many Nigerians praising his courage to speak out and challenge the political establishment.
Koboko joins a growing list of public figures, including former Minister Chibuike Amaechi and APC chieftain Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, who have recently criticised Tinubu’s leadership amid deepening hardship and insecurity.
The protest underscores increasing public frustration, particularly in Benue State, where residents say their cries for security and justice have gone unheard.
