Nigerian comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate, DeeOne, has stirred controversy by claiming that most protests in the country are not organic. Speaking on Tuesday, he alleged that powerful political interests often fund these demonstrations to push hidden agendas.
He argued that nearly 90 percent of protests in Nigeria are politically motivated rather than being purely driven by the grievances of ordinary citizens. According to him, politicians use these movements to discredit their opponents or gain personal advantages.

DeeOne noted that the involvement of “behind-the-scenes” funders makes it difficult for Nigerians to identify genuine calls for change. He claimed that many organizers are simply working for the highest bidder to create a specific narrative in the media.
