Atiku raises alarm over election results manipulation

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed serious concerns over the alleged manipulation of election results at collation centers. He stressed that Nigeria must implement effective countermeasures to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process ahead of future polls.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain made these remarks on Tuesday during a meeting with the Coalition for Democracy Movement. He emphasized the need for nationwide political coordination to protect the credibility of every vote cast.

Strengthening the protection of the votes

During the meeting, the coalition presented its organizational structure and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Atiku’s political cause. The group aims to ensure that the will of the people is not subverted by powerful interests during the collation phase.

Atiku praised the members for their consistency and sacrifices in the struggle to defend democratic principles. He assured them that their role in protecting the ballot would be remembered as a significant contribution to the nation’s history.

Building a nationwide democratic structure

The former Vice President took to his X handle to highlight the importance of grassroots mobilization and vigilance. He believes that only a well-coordinated effort can stop those intending to manipulate election outcomes.

As political parties begin to position themselves for 2027, Atiku remains focused on electoral reform and transparency. He maintained that defending democracy requires constant effort and a refusal to ignore the flaws in the current system.
