On Friday, March 21, former Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele advised his former club to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen this summer.
Chelsea has struggled with goal-scoring in recent seasons, and the Blues are looking to strengthen their attack after another underwhelming campaign. Senegalese international Nicolas Jackson has been the primary goal-scorer for Chelsea, having netted 26 goals in 68 appearances over the past two seasons.
With Chelsea expected to sign a new striker at the end of the current season, Makelele expressed his desire to see Osimhen at Stamford Bridge.
“(Osimhen) is a finisher. I think for the way Chelsea plays, they need this kind of striker to have a presence in the box,” Makelele told talkSPORT. “I think he will be the best option for Chelsea.”
Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray, has impressed with 26 goals and five assists in 30 appearances across all competitions for the Yellow and Reds this season.
