Chelle will lead Super Eagles to new heights – NFF president Gusau

Ibrahim Gusau, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has expressed his full confidence in Eric Chelle, the newly appointed head coach of the Super Eagles, saying Chelle has everything needed to take the team to the next level.

Chelle, a former Malian footballer, was named the Super Eagles’ head coach last week, and he was officially introduced to the media in Abuja on Monday, January 13.

The 47-year-old coach signed a two-year contract, with an option for one more year. He will be focused on guiding Nigeria to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“I see in the new head coach the right spirit and the right attitude, and I have faith that he will take the Super Eagles to the next level,” Gusau said.

“He sees the job of leading the Super Eagles as his dream job, and that is a huge motivation in itself. Coach Chelle recognizes and appreciates what is ahead of him, and he says he loves the challenge. We will be there giving him the necessary support all the way,” Gusau added, speaking on Monday, January 13.
