American rap superstar Cardi B has launched a fierce search for thieves who allegedly stole her American Express card. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper took to an Instagram livestream to reveal that the culprits went on a massive shopping spree before she could freeze the account.
The singer explained that the credit card was taken from her wallet just a few days ago. She expressed her fury over the incident, promising to ensure that those responsible face legal consequences for their actions.
Thieves spend thousands on designer clothes and tech
According to Cardi B, the thieves did not waste any time in exhausting the credit limit on the stolen card. She alleged that they purchased designer clothes worth $40,000 at Saks Fifth Avenue in a single trip.
The shopping spree continued at an Apple Store, where the culprits reportedly spent another $20,000 on various devices. The rapper eventually noticed the unauthorized transactions and moved quickly to freeze her cards to prevent further loss.
Rapper obtains clear footage of the culprits
Cardi B warned the thieves that their identity is no longer a secret, as she has obtained clear pictures of them from the stores’ security cameras. She also revealed that the group attempted to withdraw cash from a Chase bank branch.
“One thing about me is that I don’t play with my money,” the rapper stated firmly during her live broadcast. She confirmed that she is working with authorities and is confident that the suspects will end up in jail very soon.
