Can Real Madrid suppress FC Bayern at the Allianz Arena?
Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid travels to the Allianz Arena on Tuesday, April 30 for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinal clash against Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich.
Real Madrid progressed past Manchester City in the quarterfinal against all odds, as many expected Pep Guardiola’s men to overrun Madrid, especially with the way the game went, but Madrid had a surprise for them.
Bayern knocked Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal out of this competition in the last round, winning the tie 3-2 on aggregate and guaranteeing Tuchel a third participation in the semifinal of Europe’s premier club competition.
Madrid has scored four more goals in the Champions League than Bayern in 10 games this season. Harry Kane has comfortably been Bayern’s most influential forward in the competition so far, leading the team (by a wide margin) in goals, and assists. The Allianz faithful will hope Kane does even more heroics when the Galacticos visit tonight.
Jude Bellingham has been Madrid’s most influential forward this season, leading the team in goals plus assists. Vinicius Jr and Rodrigo have pulled their weight too, contributing their fair share of goal involvements.
It would be a fierce battle between two stubborn, arrogant European giants, but can Madrid turn over the furniture at the Allianz, or will Tuchel’s men defend their fortress with a home victory?
