Grammy-winning Afrobeats star Burna Boy has publicly disassociated himself from a meme coin being circulated in his name on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
The artist made it clear via his Instagram page that he has no involvement in any cryptocurrency or meme coin projects, describing such ventures as fraudulent.
“I don’t do any internet ‘coin’ business. I see it as fraud and I have no interest in any of that,” Burna Boy stated.
He urged his fans to disregard or report any individuals or groups promoting the coin using his identity, warning them against falling victim to scams.
This move follows a recent trend where fake or unverified meme coins are linked to celebrities without their consent in an attempt to attract quick investments.
