BREAKING: FG declares Monday public holiday for Eid-ul-Mawlid
The Federal Government (FG) has announced that Monday, September 16, will be a public holiday to celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlid, which honors the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, shared this news on behalf of FG.
He extended his warm congratulations to Muslims both in Nigeria and around the world for this special occasion.
On Friday, September 13, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, shared a statement where she mentioned that Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged the Muslim community and all Nigerians to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience.
The statement continued, “While congratulating the Muslim community on Eid-ul-Mawlid, the Minister asked them to use this time to pray for lasting peace and a more prosperous and fair nation.”
