Arsenal could be knocked out of the Champions League tonight

Arsenal welcomes FC Porto to the Emirates this night for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie, but the Gunners could leave the competition tonight if they fail to win.

Arsenal lost the first leg of the tie 1-0, succumbing to a 94th-minute strike from Wanderson Galeno. Mikel Arteta’s men were truly below par in that game, taking only seven shots and none on target.

The North Londoners had been out of the UEFA Champions League for many seasons, with their last outing before this season being in the 2016/17 season, where they were knocked out embarrassingly by FC Bayern 10-2 on aggregate.

Mikel Arteta will want to make sure that his team sees the quarterfinals at least, otherwise, it will be embarrassing for everyone in the Arsenal community if they were to be knocked out in the Round of 16 after six seasons out of the competition.

Arsenal are flying high in the league, having scored the most goals and conceded the fewest so far.
