Army kills 3 terrorists in Kaduna-Abuja highway ambush

On Thursday, March 12, the Nigerian Army announced that troops from the 1 Division, operating under Operation Fasan Yamma, successfully neutralized three terrorists during an ambush near Ngwagi Hill, Gwagwada community, off the Kaduna-Abuja Highway in Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The operation, which took place on March 11, 2025, was based on credible intelligence, leading to a firefight that forced other terrorists to flee with injuries.
During the operation, the troops recovered valuable items, including two AK-47 rifles, eight AK-47 magazines, 374 rounds of 7.62mm x 39mm ammunition, 88 rounds of 7.62mm x 54mm NATO ammunition, and an Infinix mobile phone.
Major General Mayirenso Lander David Saraso, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, praised the troops for their bravery and urged them to continue their efforts in tackling criminal elements.
