Ange’s Spurs mount failed comeback, loses NLD
Tottenham Hotspur came very close to making a comeback in the North London Derby against Arsenal that was played on Sunday, April 28.
Arsenal went 3-0 up in the match largely against the run of play, scoring three goals in the first half to put Mikel Arteta’s men in the driving seat.
Ange Postecoglou’s men found their scoring boots in the second half as they pulled two back, but they were ultimately unable to score enough goals to change the result.
The scoring started in the 15th minute with an own goal from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to put Gunners up 1-0. Bukayo Saka doubled the lead in the 27th minute, and Kai Havertz tripled it in the 38th minute.
Argentina centerback Cristian Romero pulled one back for Spurs in the 64th minute. It wasn’t until the 87th minute that Postecoglou’s men found their second.
This win puts Arsenal one point clear at the top of the table, having played one more game than Man City at this stage of the season.
Tottenham remains in 5th place.
