Again, Wike begs protesters for dialogue

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has once again extended an invitation for dialogue to those protesting against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Wike emphasized that the government is prepared to listen to their concerns and engage in meaningful discussions to address any misunderstandings about governance issues that they may not be fully aware of.

Wike made this appeal on Thursday during a ceremony where he presented staff of office to four newly appointed chiefs in the FCT. He took the opportunity to acknowledge the peaceful nature of the protests taking place in the territory, commending the demonstrators for their nonviolent approach.

Addressing the protesters, Wike urged them to continue their peaceful demonstrations while resisting any efforts by individuals or groups who might aim to undermine or destroy the nation. He stressed the importance of maintaining order and unity in the face of dissent.

The FCT Minister underscored the significance of Abuja as the nation’s capital, describing it as a vital asset to Nigeria. Wike warned that any damage or disruption in the FCT would have far-reaching and negative consequences for the entire country. He expressed his hope that the dialogue would lead to a better understanding and resolution of the issues at hand, benefiting both the government and the people.
