AEDC announces six-hour power outage in parts of Abuja over transformer maintenance

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced a scheduled six-hour power interruption in parts of Gwarinpa, Dawaki, News Engineering, France Engineering, Charley Boy and surrounding communities on Saturday.

In a statement issued on Friday, the company said the outage will occur from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carry out maintenance on the 60MVA Transformer TR1 at the Katampe Transmission Substation.

AEDC explained that the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to enhance service reliability and improve power supply to the affected areas.

The company apologised for the inconvenience the interruption may cause and urged residents to exercise patience during the maintenance period.
