ADC slams APC over ‘illegal’ Tinubu 2027 billboards amid soaring crises

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to dismantle what it described as unlawful campaign materials promoting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
In a strongly worded statement issued by the party’s Interim National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC accused the APC of prioritising “second-term propaganda” over urgent national challenges.
“Nigeria is bleeding — but APC is chasing 2027”
Abdullahi criticised the proliferation of pro-Tinubu rallies and billboards in cities such as Abuja, Port Harcourt, Minna, Kano, and Akure, warning that it violates electoral norms and shows disregard for the country’s economic reality.
“For months now, organs of the APC have staged rallies and unveiled billboards endorsing President Tinubu for a second term — while inflation soars and the power sector crumbles,” he said.
The ADC warned that such premature campaigning not only breaches electoral guidelines but also fuels public anger in a time of hardship.
“Focus on governance, not elections” — ADC to APC
The opposition party urged the APC to redirect its energy toward addressing Nigeria’s deepening power crisis, mounting insecurity, and worsening economic indicators.
“The government should face the job Nigerians elected it to do — not force-feed the public with 2027 ambitions while the country bleeds,” Abdullahi added
