Newcastle comes from behind to beat West Ham United in dramatic turn of events

Newcastle United welcomed David Moyes’s West Ham United to St. James Park for what is usually a fierce battle, on Saturday, March 31.

The match was the epitome of drama, as Newcastle actually took the lead, then went down 3-1 to the Hammers, before coming back from that to win 4-3.

Newcastle striker Alexander Isak took the lead for the home side in the 6th minute with a well-taken penalty, but Michail Antonio equalized in the 21st minute, before Muhammed Kudus took the lead for the visiting side nine minutes into stoppage time for halftime.

Three minutes after the second half started, Jarrod Bowen scored again, putting West Ham 3-1 up.

The real drama started when Isak scored another penalty in the 77th minute to make the scoreline 3-2, then substitute Harvey Barnes slammed home a goal in the 83rd minute to level the game at 3-3.

Barnes then scored a second goal in the 90th minute to put Newcastle 4-3 up, winning them the game.

The win pushes Newcastle into 8th place, leaving West Ham United in 7th place in the Premier League.
