Defender scores 99th minute goal, rescues draw against Man United

Brentford battled Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United and ended up needing a 99th minute goal from a centerback to rescue a point,

The match was played at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, March 30.

Brentford had put the Red Devils under pressure from the beginning of the game, with Man United only managing to sneak in counter attacks from time to time.

Thomas Frank’s men hit the post or the crossbar three different times in the game, signifying the many clear goalscoring opportunities they had.

The first goal of the game came in the 95th minute from substitute Mason Mount who buried a shot with his weak foot across the goalkeeper’s body into the bottom corner.

Manchester United did not get a chance to celebrate their assumed winner though, as Kristoffer Ajer slammed home a cutback from captain Ivan Toney in the 99th minute, securing a point on their home ground.

The result leaves Manchester United in 6th with 48 points, and Brentford in 15th with 27 points.
