We’re excited about Enzo Maresca – Conor Gallagher
Chelsea’s third captain, and de-facto captain for the majority of the season, Conor Gallagher, has told Sky Sports that he and his teammates are excited about the prospect of working with newly appointed Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca.
Maresca was Leicester City manager last season, winning the England second division, and securing automatic promotion to the Premier League in the process.
Recall that Chelsea was thrown into a manager search when Mauricio Pochettino essentially walked out of the Chelsea job having guided the club to a sixth place finish after a five-game win streak at the end of the league season.
Chelsea eventually settled on the 44-year-old Italian to guide the Blues for the next five years, with an option of a sixth year.
Fans have expressed mixed feelings on the new appointment, not least because his only coaching experience is not in the top flight. However, Gallagher has reassured everyone that he and his teammates will do everything to support the new manager, and are even excited to work with him.
