EPL: Chelsea suffers Boxing Day home defeat
Chelsea’s unbeaten run in the Premier League has finally come to an end, after suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Marco Silva’s Fulham on Boxing Day, Thursday, December 26.
The Blues had won seven of the last eight games, drawing against Everton last weekend.
It looked like Enzo Maresca’s men were on the way to another win, after Cole Palmer took the lead in the 16th minute. The score remained that way till the 81st minute.
Fulham then equalized in the 82nd minute through substitute Harry Wilson’s goal. Things got better for the visitors as they scored again five minutes into added time, this time through another substitute Rodrigo Muniz.
This result keeps Chelsea in 2nd place in the league table, but now only one point ahead of Nottingham Forest in 3rd place.
