Wamakko disputes PDP’s project claims in Sokoto

Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, leader of the APC in Sokoto State, has strongly denied recent assertions by the PDP that it carried out multiple projects in the state, calling them misleading and rooted in outdated materials.
Accusations and counter-response
Through his media aide, Wamakko stated that the PDP is recycling old videos and reports to mislead citizens into believing it had delivered infrastructure. “These materials are being released in parts to create a false impression,” said the spokesman.
He asserted that Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration has achieved more in under two years than the PDP did in eight, citing improvements across infrastructure, health, education, and rural development.
Project claims under scrutiny
Wamakko’s team challenged the PDP’s claims over water and housing schemes, for instance. He said the Asari Water Scheme was initiated under his administration but abandoned later, and that under his governance, numerous projects were at advanced stages when the PDP failed to continue them.
He also addressed claims about housing estates and schools, noting that many were started under his watch and that recent efforts by the current government are continuation or renovation of earlier work.
Political intent and public appeal
The APC leadership accused the PDP of deliberately distorting facts to diminish the APC’s standing. They urged residents to disregard what they described as baseless tactics, pointing instead to tangible progress in the state.
