VeryDarkMan weeps over killing of Anambra businessman, vows candlelight procession

Self-styled activist and social media critic, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), broke down in tears on Wednesday following news of the killing of Anambra businessman Ifesinachi Onyekere, also known as “Fish Magnet.”
DAILY POST reports that Onyekere, the son of a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State, was abducted by armed kidnappers on Saturday. The assailants stormed his home in the Ezinifite community, Okpuno, Awka South Local Government Area, and took him to an undisclosed location.
Tragically, his body was discovered on Wednesday, triggering widespread outrage and grief across the country.
In a video shared on his official Facebook page, a visibly emotional VeryDarkMan lamented the worsening security situation in Anambra and other parts of Nigeria. He called the incident a devastating blow to entrepreneurs and young business owners striving to succeed in the country.
“The kidnapping and killings in Anambra State is too much. What is the hope of the entrepreneurs? What is the hope of those going into business in Nigeria?” he cried out.
VDM also announced plans to visit Anambra on August 4 for a candlelight procession in honour of the late Onyekere.
“Maybe we can do a candlelight when it will not clash with the sit-at-home in the state,” he said, adding that he intends to walk through the fish market as part of an awareness campaign against the growing wave of abductions in the state.
