Trump’s survival miraculous, says wife
Melania Trump, the wife of former United States President Donald Trump, has described her husband’s escape of dual assassination attempts as “miracles,” Sky News reports Friday.
The former First Lady, who said she was in New York after the second assassination attempt on her husband’s life, stated, “The guys that were with him, they were fantastic. And I think both of the events, they were really miracles.
“I think something was watching over him… It’s almost like (the) country really needs him.”
The former president who is contending for a second presidential stint against Vice President Kamala Harris, had survived two attempts on his life.
In July 2024, Trump was targeted by 20-year-old Thomas Crooks who fired multiple shots at a political rally in Pennsylvania, after which the Secret Service agents quickly rushed Trump off the stage into an SUV.
The gunman and a bystander were killed at the rally, while two spectators were critically wounded.
About two months after, another man, Ryan Routh 58, was arrested after an alleged abortive bid to shoot the Republican at his West Palm Beach golf course.
Speaking further, Melania lamented the backlash at her billionaire husband, calling for an end from the opposition Democrats and the media.
“Is it really shocking that all this egregious violence goes against my husband? Especially that we hear the leaders from the opposition party and mainstream media branding him as a threat to democracy, calling him vile names?
“This needs to stop,” she demanded.
