Trump threatens destruction of Iran’s gas field over Qatar attack

United States President Donald Trump on Wednesday threatened to destroy Iran’s key South Pars gas field if further attacks are carried out against Qatar’s main gas facility.
Trump made the statement on his Truth Social platform, warning that the United States would respond with overwhelming force if Iran targets Qatar again.
The president confirmed that Israel had struck the South Pars gas field but stated that the US had no prior knowledge of the attack, which he said prompted Iran to launch a retaliatory strike on Qatar’s Ras Laffan facility.
“NO MORE ATTACKS WILL BE MADE BY ISRAEL pertaining to this extremely important and valuable South Pars Field unless Iran unwisely decides to attack a very innocent, in this case, Qatar,” Trump wrote.
He added that in the event of such an attack, the United States, “with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before.”
The South Pars gas field, shared between Iran and Qatar, is one of the world’s largest natural gas reserves and is critical to both countries’ energy sectors.
The development marks a sharp escalation in tensions in the region, following reported Israeli strikes and Iran’s subsequent response targeting infrastructure in Qatar.
