Trump sets new 10–12 day deadline for Putin to enter Ukraine ceasefire talks

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a new deadline of approximately 10 to 12 days for Russian President Vladimir Putin to come to the negotiating table regarding the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

Trump made the remarks during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Scotland, where he stated, “There is no reason in waiting,” as he stressed the urgency of initiating ceasefire talks.

When asked by reporters to clarify the timeline, Trump said, “I am going to make a new deadline of about 10 or 12 days from today.”

The former U.S. president, known for his unconventional diplomatic style, has repeatedly vowed to end the war in Ukraine swiftly if re-elected, though he has yet to lay out a detailed plan for doing so.

His comments come amid mounting international pressure for renewed peace efforts, as the conflict continues to inflict humanitarian and economic strain across the region.
