Troops rescue commuters, repel terrorists in Yobe

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have foiled a terrorist attack on commuters and rescued several victims along a major supply route in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on April 22 when troops of the 120 Task Force Battalion, on routine patrol along the Ngirbuwa–Bulturam Kwana road, responded to reports of an attempted attack.

According to security sources, suspected terrorists had intercepted a civilian vehicle at Bulturam Kwana and forced it into the bush in an attempt to abduct the passengers.

However, the attackers fled upon sighting the advancing troops, abandoning their victims.

The soldiers subsequently secured the area, rescued the occupants of the vehicle, and ensured their safety.

The development was disclosed in a post on X on Friday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

Sources further indicated that troops have continued to patrol and dominate the route to safeguard commuters and prevent further attacks in the area.
