Troops kill dozens of Boko Haram terrorists in Bama ambush

Dozens of Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists were neutralised when troops of the 21 Armoured Brigade came under ambush along Bama–Kashimri village in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State on Friday.
According to a credible military source, the troops, who were on a clearance operation around the Kashimri general area, swiftly responded with superior firepower, killing over 30 terrorists while several others escaped with gunshot wounds.
However, the source confirmed that the officer leading the operation, some soldiers, two members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, and two vigilantes paid the supreme price during the encounter.
“Yes, our troops came under Boko Haram ambush along Bama–Kashimri village last Friday while on clearance operations. Troops responded swiftly and neutralised dozens of the terrorists, as scores fled with gunshot wounds,” the source stated.
He added that the troops remain in high spirits, with further operations ongoing across multiple fronts to maintain pressure on the insurgents and deny them freedom of movement.
