Liverpool and Portugal forward, Diogo Jota, has tragically died in a car accident in Spain. The 28-year-old was reportedly travelling with his younger brother, André, when their vehicle veered off the road on the A-52 in the Zamora province in the early hours of Wednesday, July 3, 2025.
According to reports, the accident occurred near the town of Cernadilla, and both Jota and his brother were pronounced dead at the scene.
The tragedy comes just two weeks after Jota married his long-time partner, Rute Cardoso, in a ceremony held in Porto on Saturday, June 22, 2025. The couple shared three children.
