Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has expressed disappointment over what she described as a lack of proper recognition from Nigerians and the country’s music industry despite her contributions to the growth of Afrobeats.
Speaking on the latest episode of the OffAir Show hosted by Gbemi and Toolz, Savage, who is often referred to as the “Queen of Afrobeats,” said she does not believe she has received her flowers.
When Toolz asked if she feels adequately appreciated by the industry, Savage replied, “No. I’m sorry, I don’t.”
Savage, one of Africa’s most-awarded female artists, has played a pivotal role in popularising Afrobeats on the global stage, with hit songs like Malo, All Over, and Somebody’s Son.
