Tinubu not planning to visit US — Aide

Temitope Ajayi, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, has dismissed a report claiming that his principal will visit the United States of America on Tuesday for a meeting with US Vice President J.D. Vance.
In a post viahis X handle on Monday, the president’s aide described the report as false and misleading.
He added the report hadfuelled unnecessary speculation and “uninformed commentaries” by different individuals.
According to him, if the Nigerian president were to visit the White House, he would be meeting with President Donald Trump.
He wrote, “There’s a Sahara Reporters story that President Tinubu is going to the U.S. on Tuesday to see U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance. That story is not true.
“I can see that the fake news by Sahara has become the basis for some uninformed commentaries since yesterday. If President Tinubu is going to the White House, he won’t be going to see a Vice President.”
Reports that Nigeria and US have been engulfed in a diplomatic brat over false allegations of Christian genocide in Nigeria.
Mr Trump had designated Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern, CPC and threatened launched strikes and cut off aid to Nigeria if killings of Christians are not abetted.
But the Nigerian government has repeatedly denied the allegation, saying there is a religious and tolerance and the terrorists are blind to faith.
