Tinubu approves deployment of 65 ambassadors to foreign missions

President Bola Tinubu has approved the deployment of 65 ambassadors to their respective host countries, months after their nominations were confirmed by the Senate in December.
Among the prominent postings, former presidential spokesperson Reno Omokri has been assigned to Mexico, while former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode will represent Nigeria in Germany.
Also on the list, former military administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok Ette-Ibas, has been posted to the Philippines. Former governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, has been appointed non-career ambassador to Spain, while former governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, will serve in Greece.
Similarly, former minister of interior, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, has been posted to China. Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu has been assigned to Israel, Paul Adikwu to Vatican City, while Senator Jimoh Ibrahim will serve as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
The nominees had earlier been transmitted to the Senate by President Tinubu in 2025, and their confirmations were secured before the end of that legislative year.
