TikTok star Peller cries out over ₦36m Tax Bill from Lagos government

Popular TikTok personality Peller has accused the Lagos State Government of slamming him with an “outrageous” ₦36 million income tax bill.
Speaking during a recent livestream with singer Peruzzi, Peller said the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) demanded the sum despite him only rising to fame last year.
“Taskforce said I should pay ₦36 million for tax. I don’t have anything. I just came into the limelight last year,” he lamented.
Peruzzi, however, scolded him for not paying taxes, revealing that his own tax payments are even higher.
“Do you know you’re supposed to pay tax as a Nigerian? I won’t mention it here but it’s more than the bill they gave you,” the singer said, urging Peller to settle the debt to avoid jail time.
But Peller insisted the bill was unfair, claiming the government had never supported him during his TikTok live sessions and was targeting him because he flaunted his assets and revealed his income online.
Peruzzi advised him to plead for more time, but Peller maintained that his earnings come from social media — not Nigeria.
