Thibaut Courtois out for two months

Real Madrid first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has pulled his internal meniscus, and will now be out for about eight weeks, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano revealed this in a post on X.

Courtois, unfortunately, had just recovered from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, now he has had another injury setback before even playing a game.

The season is almost over, and the Belgium goalkeeper has not played a single game in any competition for the Galacticos this season. In fact, it was Courtois’s preseason injury that pushed Real Madrid to get Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan.

Courtois’ backup Andriy Lunin, has outperformed Arrizabalaga in the Spanish La Liga and the UEFA Champions League, and so is currently Madrid’s starting keeper.

This injury likely spells the end of Courtois’s season, as he’s likely not to be back before the season ends.
