Sunday Igboho threatens to expose politicians backing Oyo kidnappings

Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has threatened to reveal the identities of politicians backing the abduction of schoolchildren in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Speaking on Wednesday while receiving the newly elected executives of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), led by Akinteye Babatunde, Igboho alleged that some politicians are actively sponsoring kidnappers.

The activist claimed that he volunteered to rescue the abducted pupils but authorities from the Oyo State Government stopped him. According to him, state officials informed him that the kidnappers threatened to kill the victims if he intervened.

Political plots against presidency

Igboho further claimed that despite obtaining federal approval for his security outfit, Iru Ekun, the state government discouraged him from deploying the network. He linked the local security challenges to a broader political agenda aimed at undermining the current administration.

“The same thing they did to Jonathan is what they are doing to Tinubu. They want to make the country ungovernable for him,” Igboho stated during the solidarity visit at his Ibadan residence.

The activist questioned why detractors are trying to ruin the government of a Yoruba man, noting that President Bola Tinubu helped him during his exile. Bandits had previously abducted dozens of pupils and teachers in Oriire on May 15, sparking nationwide outrage.
