Seven arrested in Atlanta gang war tied to Lil Baby music video shooting

Seven individuals have been arrested in connection to the July 2024 murders of 13-year-old Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman, who were ambushed and killed at Freeman’s birthday party, Atlanta police announced Wednesday.
At a press conference, Major Ralph Woolfolk of the Atlanta Police Department revealed that the killings were linked to an ongoing gang war allegedly sparked by a May 2024 triple shooting on the set of a Lil Baby (Dominique Jones) music video in Northwest Atlanta.
“Gang violence that was orchestrated by adults,” Woolfolk stated. “And the cowardly acts of an Atlanta-based rapper that decided to go into a rival gang stronghold in a place he knew he should not have been.” Channel 2 Action News confirmed that the rapper referenced was Lil Baby.
Authorities alleged that in the months following the music video shooting, multiple homicides and shootings were connected to the escalating gang violence. Investigators further claimed that a “high-ranking” gang member ordered the hit on the two teens from behind bars in a Georgia prison using a cell phone.
Police have announced a $50,000 reward for anyone with additional information.
Meanwhile, Lil Baby recently released his album “WHAM,” which topped the Billboard 200 in January, and is preparing for his WHAM World Tour with BigXthaPlug and NLE Choppa, set to begin in June.
Authorities continue to investigate the broader implications of the gang conflict and are working to hold all responsible parties accountable.
