Nollywood Actress Dayo Amusa opens up about fertility struggles before welcoming son

Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has shared her emotional and challenging journey through fertility struggles before finally welcoming her baby boy in November 2024.

Speaking on The Debbie Show, Amusa recounted the physical, emotional, and financial toll she endured while trying to conceive. She recalled a moment of deep despair, crying out to God for a child or an end to her suffering.

“I remember singing at the top of my voice and crying deeply, and I didn’t care that my domestic workers could hear me,” Amusa revealed. “I saw it as ‘God, it’s either you take my life at this moment or you fulfill that promise you made to me.’”

The actress also spoke about the financial strain of fertility treatments, revealing that she spent millions of naira and underwent multiple surgeries in her quest for motherhood.

“If there is anything positive left in my life, this is the time. If not, Lord, take me,” she recalled telling God. “I was tired. I know how much I spent, how many surgeries I had. If it’s going to happen, let it happen.”

Amusa’s candid revelation resonated deeply with many women on social media, who shared their own experiences with fertility struggles:
“TTC (Trying to Conceive) is not child’s play. It drains you emotionally, financially, psychologically, mentally. May God come through for every TTC woman.”
“You don’t know struggle until you’ve dealt with infertility—explained or unexplained. Baby dust to all those fighting this battle. Christ is your armor, victory is yours.”
“The waiting period is so tough, you go wan crazeeeeeeeee.”

Amusa’s story has sparked an outpouring of support, highlighting the silent struggles many women face in their journey to motherhood.
