Rwanda defeated Zimbabwe 1-0 on Tuesday in a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier, reclaiming momentum after their recent loss to Nigeria.
Gilbert Mugisha scored the only goal of the match with a blistering free-kick just before half-time.
The second half produced no goals as Amavubi held on for all three points.
With the win, Rwanda move up to third in the group with 11 points, pushing Nigeria (10 points) down to fourth ahead of the Super Eagles’ clash with South Africa.
Later tonight, Benin Republic, also on 11 points, will host Lesotho in the group’s final match of the round.
