Reject Tinubu reelection bid – Imansuagbon to Nigerians

Kenneth Imansuagbon, popularly known as the “Rice Man,” has called on Nigerians to reject any attempt by President Bola Tinubu to seek reelection in 2027. The prominent politician and businessman made this statement during a recent press conference where he reviewed the state of the nation. He argued that the current administration has failed to provide the necessary relief for the suffering masses who are struggling with high food prices and insecurity.

Imansuagbon noted that the promises of “Renewed Hope” have turned into a “Renewed Despair” for many households across the country. He believes that the country needs a fresh leadership that understands the pain of the common man and has a practical plan for economic recovery. The politician urged the electorate to be more discerning and to vote based on performance rather than ethnic or religious sentiments.

Assessing the economic policies of the APC government

The politician criticized the removal of the fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira, stating that these moves were done without a proper safety net for the poor. He pointed out that the cost of basic commodities like rice and beans has tripled in the last year, making them unaffordable for the average citizen. Imansuagbon believes that the government is “out of touch” with the reality of life on the streets.

He challenged the administration to show the tangible results of the trillions of naira that have been saved from the subsidy removal. According to him, the lack of transparency in the management of national resources is a major reason for the current economic crisis. He has called for a total overhaul of the fiscal policies to prioritize the welfare of the Nigerian people.

Building a formidable opposition for 2027

Imansuagbon is among the voices calling for a united front among the opposition parties to challenge the dominance of the APC. He believes that a fragmented opposition will only play into the hands of the ruling party. The politician has been engaging with various stakeholders to discuss the possibility of a “mega-party” that can rescue the country from its current path.

He emphasized that the 2027 election is a battle for the soul of Nigeria and that everyone must be involved in the process. He encouraged the youth to take an active role in politics and to demand accountability from their leaders. For Imansuagbon, the time for “complacency” is over, and the time for “action” is now.

Personal political ambitions of the “Rice Man”

When asked about his own plans for the next election cycle, Imansuagbon stated that his primary focus is on the welfare of the people. He has built a reputation for his philanthropic activities, especially the distribution of rice to the needy during festive periods. Many believe he is positioning himself for a major political role in his home state or at the national level.

He concluded by stating that he is ready to work with any group that shares his vision for a prosperous and peaceful Nigeria. The call to reject the incumbent’s reelection is likely to be a recurring theme as the political temperature in the country continues to rise. Whether the electorate will heed his call remains to be seen in the coming months.
