Plateau will reciprocate Tinubu’s gesture in 2027, says Baba Hassan

A former Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Baba-Hassan, has declared that the people of Plateau will stand firmly behind President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, following what he described as the president’s show of respect and recognition during his visit to the state.
Mr Tinubu was in Jos on Saturday to attend the state burial of Nana Lydia Yilwatda Goshwe, mother of APC national chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe.
The president’s presence was seen as not only to honour the late matriarch but also demonstrated his bond with the Plateau people.
Mr Baba-Hassan, who chaired the Mobilisation Committee for the event, told journalists at the Secretariat Junction flyover on Saturday that the enthusiastic reception demonstrated Tinubu’s enduring popularity in Plateau
“We are indeed thrilled by the peaceful and orderly conduct exhibited by the people of Plateau State, members, and APC supporters during the funeral visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We are also grateful to Mr. President for deeming it important to accord our mother a befitting state burial in recognition of her contributions to nationhood,” Mr Baba-Hassan said.
According to him, the president’s demeanor on arrival at the airport and throughout his movement across Jos showed he was satisfied with the warm reception.

“From the moment he touched down, through the major routes to the Church, it was clear that Mr. President was happy. On behalf of the mobilisation committee that I chaired, we are equally happy,” he said.
Mr Hassan stressed that Plateau will not forget Tinubu’s gesture, promising that the state will repay the goodwill at the ballot box in 2027.
