PDP Governors to hold strategic meeting in Zamfara

Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will converge in Gusau, Zamfara State, this weekend for a high-level strategic meeting hosted by Governor Dauda Lawal.
The governors are expected to arrive in Zamfara’s capital on Friday evening ahead of a closed-door session scheduled for Saturday. A statement issued by Governor Lawal’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, said the gathering will focus on pressing political issues, party unity, and developmental collaboration among the states.
“Governor Dauda Lawal extends a warm welcome to his counterparts, the governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State. The governors are convening today for an important meeting of the PDP Governors Forum,” Idris said.
According to the statement, Governor Lawal will host a dinner for his colleagues tonight before the forum’s formal deliberations commence tomorrow. The discussions will also include preparations for the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Zamfara meeting comes at a critical time for the opposition party, as leaders seek to strengthen internal cohesion and map out strategies to navigate Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
