Omo-Agege makes first appearance at Delta APC meeting

The meeting, held at the Government House in Asaba, was convened by Governor Oborevwori to deliberate on party unity, cohesion, e-registration and preparations ahead of the forthcoming party congress.
Also in attendance were the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa; the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo; the APC National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka; members of the National and State Assemblies, as well as other party leaders and stakeholders.
Another surprise appearance at the meeting was by the member representing the Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, daughter of former governor of the state, Chief James Ibori.
Omo-Agege, a long-standing governorship aspirant in Delta State, contested the 2023 gubernatorial election as the APC candidate but lost to Oborevwori, who was then of the PDP.
Although he welcomed Oborevwori into the APC and attended the formal defection ceremony held on April 28, 2025, Omo-Agege had since kept a low profile, maintaining silence over his political future and whether he intends to relinquish his governorship ambition.
Before Oborevwori’s defection, the Delta APC had been plagued by internal divisions, with Omo-Agege’s camp locked in a leadership tussle with a faction led by Chief Keyamo over post-election issues.
However, following the governor’s move to the APC, Oborevwori has assumed control of the party structure in the state, with stakeholders now recognising him as the undisputed leader of the party in Delta.
