No politician is innocent – Charly Boy blasts El-Rufai over political antics

Veteran singer and outspoken activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has launched a scathing critique of Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, in response to his recent political actions.
El-Rufai’s increasing interactions with top opposition figures have sparked intense speculation about his loyalty to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and to President Bola Tinubu. Recently, the former governor had claimed that some individuals are being paid to defend the current government, further stoking the political fire.
However, Charly Boy wasted no time in responding with a fierce rebuke. In a video posted on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, the activist accused El-Rufai of playing the same political games he criticized while in office.
“WAKE-UP CALL FOR NAIJA! El-Rufai pack well biko, No be ur yeye agenda you dey pursue? From politicians to keyboard warriors and cashtivist’s, it’s time to wise up! No government is holy, no politician is innocent,” Charly Boy said in the video.
He further called for a shift in the political discourse, urging Nigerians to stop falling for manipulation and deceit. “We deserve better! Let’s share one love, not manipulation and deceit. It’s time to stop letting others use us for their agenda,” he added.
Charly Boy’s comments reflect his long-standing stance against political dishonesty and his advocacy for a more accountable government. His blunt remarks have sparked a mix of reactions online, with many applauding his fearless approach to speaking truth to power.
