No plan yet to implement 5% fuel tax — FG

The Federal Government says it has no immediate plans to implement the controversial 5% Petroleum Products Tax outlined in new tax legislation.
Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, made the clarification during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.
The announcement comes amid public backlash, with organised labour threatening industrial action if the tax is not scrapped.
The proposed fuel tax has triggered nationwide concern, as citizens already struggle with rising living costs following subsidy removal.
