Netanyahu condemns ‘shocking’ chaos during hostage handover

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly condemned the chaotic scenes that occurred during the handover of seven hostages in Khan Younis. The freed hostages, including Israelis Gadi Mozes and Arbel Yehoud, were surrounded by an angry mob, making their transfer to the Red Cross difficult and dangerous.

Netanyahu called the incident “shocking,” stating, “I view with great severity the shocking scenes during the release of our hostages. This is further proof of the unimaginable cruelty of the Hamas terrorist organization.” He demanded that those involved in the mediation efforts take immediate action to prevent similar events from happening in the future. He emphasized that the safety of hostages must be a priority, adding, “Whoever dares to harm our hostages — will pay.”

Along with the Israeli civilians, five Thai nationals were also freed in Khan Younis, though they too faced the intense mob as they were transferred. The situation highlighted the ongoing dangers and challenges in the region.
