MyTherapistng, WellaHealth team up to enhance services

Nigerian mental healthtech startup MyTherapistng, now serving 5,000 users, has partnered with healthtech company WellaHealth to expand its offerings. This collaboration will provide MyTherapistng users with micro-health insurance and additional health services.

The integration will offer telemedicine, malaria tests and treatment, and screenings for diabetes and blood pressure. “This will be available to our corporate clients, covering both mental and physical health, with WellaHealth as our service provider,” says Oluwaseun Raphael Afolayan, CTO and Co-founder.

Nigeria faces a significant mental health crisis, with only about 10.4% of those with severe mental disorders receiving treatment and just 3% having health insurance. The federal government aims to extend coverage to over 50 million Nigerians by 2027.

Partnerships like this are crucial for improving healthcare access and fostering innovation. Research shows that strategic alliances are key to driving growth and innovation.

“Our goal is to break down barriers to mental health care. Partnering with WellaHealth broadens our services and reinforces our commitment to holistic health support,” says Dedoyin Ajayi, Co-founder and CEO of MyTherapistng.

This follows WellaHealth’s recent expansion efforts, including the launch of Healthsend Africa in Kenya and Nigeria. MyTherapistng is also exploring other partnerships to enhance mental well-being across Africa.
