Massive NDLEA raids yield multi-state drug seizures,capture of wanted baron ‘Chisco Bee’”

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted 11,135 kilograms of processed skunk in Orita-Apeje, Araromi-Okeodo forest reserve, Ife South LGA of Osun State, following days of surveillance that culminated in a major raid on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

Seven members of a drug syndicate were arrested, while two trucks used for transporting the drugs were seized.

NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi confirmed the arrests of Lucky Abiodun, Julius Amos, Victor Ngbikili, Sunday Oduegwu, Ibrahim Akanni, Eze Godstime, and Fred Ifeanyichukwu, alongside the confiscation of a Volvo truck (WWR 29 XA) and a Mercedes truck (AWK 713 YZ) loaded with the illicit substance.

The Osun raid was followed by several coordinated operations across the country, leading to multiple arrests and large drug recoveries.

In Edo State, operatives seized 1,902.1kg of drugs, including 184.1kg recovered along a bush path in Oza/Igbanke, 672kg evacuated from Utese forest, 494kg found in a Mercedes Benz driven by 45-year-old Felix Edah, and 552kg seized from another vehicle driven by 51-year-old Lucky Abagha.

In Ogun State, four suspects — Micheal Okoh, Offor Agada, Raphael Nkemjika, and Nwabueze Franklin — were arrested along the Ijebu-Ode expressway with 68kg of skunk and 3.15kg of methamphetamine.

In Taraba State, Danjuma Tukura (50) was caught with 172kg of skunk in Sunkani, while Wisdom Titus (24) was arrested with 84kg in Takum.

In Adamawa State, officials recovered 396,000 tramadol capsules from 50-year-old Ahmed Isyaku Nda at the Aliyu Mustapha International Airport, Yola. In Nasarawa, 785kg of skunk was evacuated from a warehouse in Asob Maraba Karu belonging to a fleeing drug dealer.

In Lagos, two suspects, Jamiu Kunle Kardoso and Oriyomi Waliu, were arrested in Surulere with 65.15kg of Canadian Loud, while Taofeek Moraina was apprehended in Otto, Oyingbo, with 141kg of Ghana Loud.

Kwara State operatives intercepted a truck on the Ilorin–Jebba expressway carrying 197 blocks of skunk (78.565kg) and 155 cartons of rubber solution, arresting its driver, Umar Yakubu. Another driver, Ibrahim Bello, was caught transporting 20 blocks of skunk in a jerry can.

In one of the agency’s biggest breakthroughs, the NDLEA’s Special Operations Unit arrested wanted drug baron Frank Chijioke Ibemesi, popularly known as Chisco Bee, at a hotel in Isolo, Lagos, in the early hours of November 15. A search of his warehouse on Pius Ezeobi Street led to the recovery of 1,762.8kg of Loud, alongside foreign currencies including $11,600, £2,000, €2,200, and 50 Canadian dollars.

Meanwhile, NDLEA formations nationwide continued their War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization activities in schools, religious centers, workplaces, and communities, including at the Anglican Girls Grammar School, Obalende, Ijebu Ode.

Chairman/CEO of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd), commended the operatives in Osun, Lagos, Edo, Ogun, Taraba, Adamawa, Nasarawa, and Kwara States for their coordinated efforts. He urged them to maintain a balanced, sustained approach to drug control across the country.
