Many dead as vehicle crashes into market in Anambra

On Wednesday, September 11, an unknown number of people are feared to have died after a speeding vehicle lost control and crashed into the Oye Agu Market in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Details about the crash are still unclear, but it is reported that goods were damaged and many people might have lost their lives.

A video circulating on social media shows the wrecked Sienna vehicle and some traders who were sadly crushed.

The market, known for food items sold by the roadside, was severely impacted. The video also shows ruined tomatoes and other food items.

Engr. Ben Okongwu, the President-General of Abagana community, confirmed that at least three people died in the crash, which he said happened because the driver lost control of the vehicle.

RC Margaret Onabe, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State, said she had not yet been informed about the incident.
