Manchester United youngster to get first international start
Manchester United teenage winger Alejandro Garnacho is expected to start for his country for the first time ever, Fabrizio Romano reports.
Garnacho has only played three games for the Argentina senior team so far, but it has just been substitute appearances hitherto, however Romano reports that the youngster will get his first start today against Costa Rica, in Argentina’s second friendly of the international break, after it was confirmed by the Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni.
“Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho will start for the first time for Argentina vs Costa Rica.
“Decision made by coach Scaloni as Garnacho will have important chance ahead of the Copa América,” Romano said.
Argentina won their first friendly of the break 3-0 against El Salvador, with goals from defender Cristian Romero, midfielder Enzo Fernandez and midfielder Giovanni Lo Celso.
Lionel Messi was noticeably missing from the Argentina squad, due to injury.
